Getting to and from the ANU

It is often easiest, cheapest and fastest overall to travel to the ANU by bicycle or bus, especially as parking can be difficult during the semester. Make your choice based on what works best for you.

Cycling or walking: Good if you live anywhere from 1 to 10 kilometres from the University, or further if you want to stay really fit!

Buses: A good option if you live close to a bus route — the major intertown routes come right past the ANU.

Driving: You might need to drive if you have complicated transport needs or live far away from Uni. You can reduce the cost by cycling or catching the bus when you don't need the car, or by carpooling.

Work from home and avoid the transport dilemma altogether.

Use the Routes and maps section for some suggestions from your suburb.

Parking

Parking options range from single day parking to reserved space car parks. Choose a permit or ticket type based on how often you need to drive.

It can be difficult to find a park on the ANU campus — if you're having trouble try the carparks closer to the lake.
