Getting to ANU by Bus

 

Let someone else do the driving. Catching the bus is a cheap, safe and relaxing way to commute to the ANUcampus. You can read the paper or catch up on your lecture notes and walking to and from stops allows you to incorporate some light morning exercise..

 

ACTION Buses


ACTION is the major bus service provider in the ACT, with routes servicing all regions of Canberra. Follow the links below to find out more.

   

Tickets - 10 fare tickets cost $11 for students and are available, along with weekly, monthly and semester tickets, from the ANU Union shop as well as local newsagents. Find out about the various bus ticket options.

Bus Routes - Search the bus routes that will take you to the ANU or to the nearby City Interchange.

Timetables & Further Info - Access the online timetable, the full list of ACTION bus routes and get more info on ticket pricing, how to catch a bus and wheelchair accessible services and other services that ACTION offers.

You can also pick up timetable pamphlets from outside the ANU Union Shop – located in the Union building (20) and at ACTION shopfronts in the bus interchanges.

Bring your bike for the ride!  An increasing number of buses have easy-to-use bike racks fitted.

Other Bus Services

Unisafe Buses - ANU Security operate a free night-time bus service to help staff and students get around campus safely and comfortably after 5pm. Click the link for timetable and route map.

DEANES Buslines - Deane’s Buslines provides a service from the City West (CW) terminal to Queanbeyan. It also offers bus services from the City to the South Coast and other regions of rural NSW.
